Friday in two hadith
Two well-known reasons people send each other a reminder on Friday:
- Durood. The Prophet ﷺ called Friday one of the best of days and asked people to send more blessings on him on it (Sunan Abi Dawud 1047, graded sahih by al-Albani).
- An hour for dua. There is a short time on Friday in which a Muslim who asks Allah for something while praying is given it (Sahih al-Bukhari 935). The hadith does not name the hour, so many people make dua through the day, especially after Asr.
Is it fine to say “Jumma Mubarak”?
The scholars' answers we read say yes, as a friendly greeting on a blessed day, the way people say Eid Mubarak. They add one condition: don't treat it as a required act or as a Sunnah of Friday, because no hadith teaches these exact words. If you are unsure, ask a scholar you trust.
