English to Urdu translation on your phone: sentences, photos and Roman Urdu

By the Sitey team · · 4 min read

Type, paste or say a sentence in English, or take a photo of a letter, a sign or a menu, and the free Sitey app gives it back in Urdu, Roman Urdu or English. It translates the meaning the way people say it in Pakistan, not word for word. This guide shows a real result, the everyday phrases people look up most, the one thing to check in every Urdu translation, and the limits.

A real result, unedited

We typed one WhatsApp-style message into the app's translator on a tablet and asked for Urdu, then Roman Urdu:

Please send me the location. I will reach in 20 minutes, and bring the cake with you.
براہ کرم مجھے مقام بھیج دیں۔ میں 20 منٹ میں پہنچ جاؤں گا، اور کیک بھی ساتھ لے آنا۔
Please mujhe location bhej dein. Main 20 minute mein pahunch jaunga, aur cake bhi saath le aana.
The translator in the Sitey app: an English sentence and its Urdu translation, with Copy and WhatsApp buttons
The same result in the app (Urdu menus), 29 October 2026.

Two things to notice. The Roman Urdu keeps everyday English words like location and cake, the way people actually type on WhatsApp. And the app wrote pahunch jaunga, the form a man uses, because the English gave no clue who was speaking. That is the one thing to check.

The one thing to check: who is speaking, and to whom

English verbs are the same for everyone; Urdu ones are not. A man says main aa raha hoon, a woman main aa rahi hoon. You ask a man aap kaise hain? and a woman aap kaisi hain? That is why so many people search for “… meaning in urdu female”. Any translator, Sitey's included, has to guess when the English doesn't say. Read the endings (gaa / gi, raha / rahi, kaise / kaisi) and change them if the guess is wrong.

Everyday phrases and their meaning in Urdu

The limits, plainly

  • 15 translations a day in the app, each up to 3,000 characters. The screen shows how many are left today.
  • It needs the internet: the translation is made on Sitey's server by Claude, an AI from Anthropic. A photo is sent once for that answer and is not kept.
  • Names, phone numbers, amounts, dates and addresses are kept exactly as written.
  • AI can be wrong. Use it to understand a legal or medical paper, then check anything important with someone who knows.
  • No app? The translator on the website is free to try, typed text only; the Sitey app gives 15 a day and reads photos.
